INTRODUCTION: Foreign body ingestion is common problem of childhood period. In this study, our experiences in children of complicated with foreign body ingestion were presented and discused with the literature.
METHODS: In two centers between 1987 and 2013; all hospital files of patients with complicated with foreign body ingestion and requared surgery were analised retrospectively.
RESULTS: 13 cases were diagnosed complicated with foreign body ingestion during the 26 years in two centers; 6 of them (46%) were male, 7 of them (54%) were female. Mean age was 36.6 months (5 months and 9 years old); and 10 of them had history of foreing body ingestion at admission, in three patients had nor history of foreing body ingestion neither findings of graphy. These 3 patients had required emergency surgery and waxcloth piece, pine tree leaf and small plastic balls were found in the gut. Other 10 patients had required surgery because of persistence foreing body in the same place. One of them was removed by rectal touch, others 12 were removed by laparotomy. In one patient foreing body was pushed to rectosigmoid colon; one had removed with appendectomy while 11 of them had remowed with enterotomy. Two patients had mental retardation All patients had recovered completely, one of them required laparotomy due to brid ileus.
DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION: Foreing body ingestion may cause serious problems in children. The diagnosis and treatment of foreing body ingestion may be delayed or become difficult if the medical record is not obtained or it is not found in the graph. We think that these kinds of diseases should be supervised closely by hospitalizing the patient.

Yabancı cisimlerin 2’si midede, 1’i duodenumda, 5’i Treitz’de, 4’ü ileoçekal valv veya ileumda, 1’i de rektumda saptandı.
