Evaluation of ERAS Protocol in General Surgery

With the implementation of the ERAS protocol, which was first developed with Northern European based studies, it was aimed to regulate postoperatife physiological functions. It is tried to make the treatment experience of the patient in the period of illness and hospital care, a standard, measured and improved process. It requires management discipline with standard care of disease process in the pre-operative, operative and postoperatife period.
The patient's coordinated conscious and improved active compliance with the healthcare team, including the physician, nurse and nursing staff, is essential. The management of this process involves all health care professionals involved in treatment. In general surgery, it has started with colorectal surgery, but guidelines have been developed for all disciplines of gastrointestinal such as gastric, hepatobiliary, bariatric etc. With the ERAS protocol, it has been proven that hospital stay, treatment costs and complication rates are improved.

Genel Cerrahide ERAS Protokolünün Değerlendirilmesi

İlk olarak Kuzey Avrupa merkezli çalışmalar ile başlayan ERAS protokolünün geliştirilmesi ile postoperatif fizyolojik fonksiyonların düzenlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Hastanın hastalık ve hastane döneminde geçirdiği tedavi deneyiminin standart, ölçülmüş, iyileştirilmiş bir süreç hâline getirilmesi için çalışılır. Operasyon öncesi, operasyon ve operasyon sonrası dönemde standart bakı ile hastalık sürecini yönetme disiplini gerektirir.
Hastanın hekim, hemşire hastabakıcı da dâhil tüm sağlık uygulayıcısı ekip ile koordineli bilinçli, geliştirilmiş aktif bir şekilde uyumu şarttır. Bu sürecin yönetimi, tedaviye müdahil olan tüm sağlık personelini içerir. Genel cerrahi disiplininde de ilk olarak kolorektal cerrahi ile başlamış
olmakla beraber, gastrik, hepatobiliyer, bariatrik vb gibi gastrointestinal tüm disiplinler için klavuzlar geliştirilmiştir. ERAS protokolü ile hastanede kalış süresinin, tedavi maliyetlerinin, komplikasyon oranlarının iyileşmesinin sağlandığı kanıtlanmıştır.
