Miller Fisher Syndrome: Two case report

Miller-Fisher syndrome, which is a rare form of Guillain-Barre syndrome, is characterized by external ophtalmoplegia, areflexia and ataxia occured 2-3 weeks after gastroenteritis or upper respiratory tract infection. Although recurrent diseases are rarely presented, usually Miller-Fisher syndrome is self limited and cures in 8-10 weeks. In this report we presented two cases with Miller-Fisher syndrome which is a rare form of Guillain-Barre syndrome admitted to our hospital in between one week to remember this rare disease. In one of the cases the presence of uninary and feces incontinance which are seen in Guillain-Barre syndrome rarily, give us rise to thought the association of Miller Fisher syndrome and autonomic neuropathy.

Miller Fisher sendromu: İki olgu sunumu

Miller-Fisher sendromu, Guillain-Barre sendromunun nadir görülen bir şekli olup 2-3 hafta içerisinde geçirilmiş gastroenterit veya üst solunum yolu enfeksiyonunu takiben ortaya çıkan eksternal oftalmopleji, arefleksi ve ataksi ile karakterizedir. Miller-Fisher sendromu genellikle kendi kendini sınırlayarak 8-10 hafta içerisinde iyileşme gösteren bir hastalık olmakla beraber nadiren tekrarlayıcı Miller-Fisher sendromu olgularından da bahsedilmektedir. Bu yazıda hastanemize bir hafta arayla başvuran iki Miller-Fisher sendromu olgusu sunularak Guillain-Barre sendromunun nadir görülen bir formu olan Miller-Fisher sendromunun hatırlanması amaçlandı. Vakaların birinde Guillain-Barre sendromunda nadiren görülen idrar ve gaita inkontinansının gözlenmiş olması da literatürde daha önce tanımlanmamış olan otonomik sinir tutulumunun Miller-Fisher sendromuna da eşlik edebileceği fikrini uyandırmıştır.
